MINI Countryman Inventory list is growing at your local MINI dealerships (So Cal)

It seems like MINI is producing enough number of MINI Countryman models out of Magna Steyr factory in Graz to meet the growing demand for the car. Other than meeting the demand for custom factory orders from customers, it is also producing enough Countryman models for MINI dealers to beef up their inventory for those who cannot wait for 2 month and got to have the Countryman right away. Quick search for the inventory of Los Angeles area MINI dealerships reveals 140 MINI Cooper, Cooper S, and ALL4 Countryman models sitting at the dealership lot. Interestingly, of those 140, only 30 cars, about 22%, are the non-turbo Cooper models while the remaining 110 are Cooper S and ALL4 models. (ALL4 take up less than 20% of 110 available).

I find a bit odd that the model mix ratio is that extreme considering MINI produces 50% Cooper and 50% Cooper S models. It's either customers are scooping up more Cooper models as they arrive at the dealership, or the dealerships simply ordered more Cooper S models expecting stronger initial demand for the Cooper S Countryman models. As March Countryman sales were quite strong, it's hard to analyze without looking at all statistics. What's for sure is that if you want a MINI Countryman and don't want to wait for 2 month for factory ordered MINI, you have a very good selection of MINI Countryman to choose from in various colors and options at your local MINI dealerships in Southern California! If you are still debating which color Countryman you should order, you should be able to see one in flesh before you hand over the deposit check.

Also, this means that you will have more power negotiating a better deal (especially with S models) as perhaps, the demand for S model is not as strong as they predicted.
