MINI sales figures June 2011

MINI USA reported sales of 5,228 automobiles in June, a new record for the month.  The June 2011 sales are an increase of 26% over the 4,149 sold in June, 2010. Year-to-date MINI sales in the US are up 42.3% on the volume of 29,816 compared to 20,953 in the first six month of 2010. More details after the jump.

R60 Countryman continues to be a sales hero in MINI line up. With 1,426 Countryman sold, it represents 27.3% of total MINI sales. This compares to previous month sales of 1,710. Hardtop again is the volume leader in the lineup with 2,487 cars sold, down about 300 units compared to previous month. With summer right around the corner, Convertibles continue the downward trend with 505 units sold. Clubman did quite well this month with 810 units, only 6.9% down compared to same month of 2011 and actually an increase of 21 units over previous month.

While June sales number of 5,228 might be a new record for the month, and year-to-date also shows an great improvement, it is notable that since April, the total sale has been on the down slope: 6,446 cars in April 2011, 5,801 cars in May 2011. Again, this is even with the MINI Rocks the Rivals promotion where buyers were offered with additional $1000 off. But with 2012 model year cars just around the corner, and the introduction of the new Coupe, the sales chart is about to get interesting.
