Carmageddon? What Carmageddon?

LA has been buzzing for weeks about the 'Carmageddon' - the traffic disaster predicted by the closure of one of the busiest stretch of already busy I-405. However, it is looking amazing good so far with virtually no traffic on the normally packed LA freeways. I had to drive from Burbank to Santa Monica this morning, and my Countryman enjoyed traffic free drive - it was actually even better than usual weekend with no shutdown. I guess citizens of LA got the message and staying local today! However, it ain't over yet..

**For those non-LA natives, the Red lined section of 405 between 101 and 10 is the closed section.

  2. Hello Erin. Yup, Southbay! Congrats on your order. Is it going to be 2012 Countryman? Tell us the details! As for the extended warranty, I do not need one as I am leasing my Countryman for 3 years. While I generally do not get any extended warranty on everything I buy, if you do plan to keep the car for the long run, it might just provide a peace of mind. Also remember you can negotiate the extended warranty. Don't settle for the posted price. The other option is that I've read some insurance company might offer the extended warranty at lower price than the factory one. (Providing basically same service) So you can also check with your insurance company.

  3. thanks for the info. i am planning on having this car for many years..

i ordered a '12 automatic s, and decided not to wait for the rear bench option, although i probably would have preferred it. white w/ a black roof, chrome exterior, mirrors, and interior, black headliner and piano black interior details, mini connect w/ nav, heat seats, xenon, comfort access, flat load floor. i was able to negotiate $1575 off msrp based off an offer from another dealership, although i spoke to 4 or 5 dealerships altogether.

after months of test driving the prius, volvo s40 & s60, and others, i drove the countryman once and decided in about five minutes. happy i found your blog while i was researching!
