Courtesy of MotorAuthority via MotoringFile, we now have a more clear view of what the next generation MINI's interior will look like. Putting aside some of the trim details (BMW steeringwheel, misfitting shiftknob boot, etc) on this prototype tester, this is a real deal. The next Countryman will feature an interior derived from the above design theme with more sophisticated, grown up feel. More detailed insight is available at
MotoringFile.
It should be noted, the Paceman will also have an updated interior design when it comes out next year. Also, since the Paceman and the Contryman share amny of the same parts it has been stated that Mini (BMW) will not start shipping 2013 countryman until October/November on 2012 as they will be doing a mid cycle interior refresh to match the new Paceman design.
ReplyDeleteI'd say this is good news.
This looks pretty good. As an owner of an R53 and an R56 i really think the interior needed work in the new model. It really has been a bit shoddy and cheap up to now. Saying that i would like to see more of a sports car interior in this new one but anything is an improvement on previous interiors anyway.
